Henderson v. Pacific Corp
TranscriptSummaryNotes

James Henderson 2:15
The contract has a non-compete clause extending three years after termination. That seems excessive.
SC
Sarah Chen (You) 2:16
Three years is aggressive. Under California law, non-competes are generally unenforceable, but since Pacific Corp is in Texas, we need to check the governing law clause.

The contract says Texas law applies. What are our options?

What are our options for negotiating that down?

I'd push for 12 months max with geographic limits. Texas courts have been narrowing scope.

What attorneys ask before switching

Audio never leaves your device. Transcription runs locally on your device's neural engine. The only opt-in cloud feature is AI summaries, which sends transcript text only (never audio) and can be disabled entirely. You control exactly what stays on-device.

Only if you opt in — it's off by default. When enabled, your transcript text (never audio) is sent directly from your device to a cloud language model. It does not pass through Meetly's servers and is not stored after the response is returned. Audio never leaves your device under any circumstances. You can also supply your own API key (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) to route requests through your own account.

On-device transcription runs a fine-tuned Whisper-based speech model locally — nothing is sent anywhere. For optional AI summaries, Meetly supports OpenAI (GPT-4o), Anthropic (Claude), and Google (Gemini). You choose the provider and can use your own API key. No model provider receives your audio — only transcript text.

Meetly uses the on-device neural engine for transcription with 98%+ accuracy on clear audio. For legal terms and proper nouns, accuracy improves as the model processes more of your conversations.

Yes. Recording and transcription work entirely offline with zero internet connection. The only feature that requires internet is the opt-in AI summaries. Everything else runs locally.

Never. Meetly captures audio directly from your device's microphone and system audio. No bot enters the meeting. No one on the call knows you're recording unless you tell them.

Everything is stored in a local encrypted database on your device. No cloud sync, no third-party backup servers, no remote access. Delete a session and it's gone — permanently, from your device only.
